Fruit Fly Airlines is a free game and science toy at fruitflyairlines.com, made by KekwanuLabs. This page says what we keep about you, why, and how to have it removed. The short version: we keep very little, we never sell it, and there are no cookies.

Kept only on your device

Your scores, the name you type, your passport stamps, which city facts you've seen, and your settings are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device unless you choose to put a score on the world board. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them.

When you fly

So that scores can't be faked, our server gives each flight its route and weather, and when the flight ends your browser sends the moments you tapped. The server re-flies the run to check the score. We don't store runs: nothing is kept unless you name the score (below).

Public: the world board and the Hall of Fame

If you save a score, the name you type goes on the public world board with the score, the number of cities and countries, the flight time, the city that got your fly, and the date. If your fly makes it around the world, the same name and your time go in the Hall of Fame. Use any name you like; it doesn't need to be your real one. Names are checked for slurs and obscenities, and we may hide any name.

Shared boarding passes

When you open the share sheet, your boarding pass (the picture, the share line and the city) is uploaded so that the link you post can show it. Anyone with the link can see it. We also keep the IP address that uploaded it, to stop abuse.

Email updates

If you sign up for updates, we keep your email address, where on the site you signed up, when, and your IP address (to stop abuse). We use your email only to send news about Fruit Fly Airlines. Every email will have a link to unsubscribe, and you can also just email us. We never sell or share your address, except with the service that sends the emails for us.

Other services

• Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host, it sees your IP address and browser with each request, and keeps short-lived logs (a few days) so we can fix problems. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits: it uses no cookies and builds no profile of you.
• Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, so your browser asks Google for them.
• Open-Meteo supplies the weather. Our server asks for it, not your browser, so it never sees you.

Your camera and microphone

A few modes can use your camera or microphone so the fly can see and hear you. That happens entirely on your device: nothing is recorded or sent anywhere, unless you save a clip yourself.

Children

Anyone can play. Email updates are for people 13 and over; if you're younger, please don't sign up. If you think a child has given us their email, tell us and we'll delete it.

Your data, your call

Email hello@fruitflyairlines.com to get a copy of what we hold about you, or to have it deleted: your email address, a name on the board, or a shared boarding pass. We'll do it within 30 days.

If this page changes, the date at the top will change with it.
